I know I have gone a shamefully long time without posting, but with a new house and so many projects going on it seemed a good time to start up again. We have been working on the house now for about 5 weeks and it already looks really different.
Our first major project has been the kitchen. It was completely original and very 60s. Between the vinyl floor, laminate back splash, and wall to wall dark wood cabinets there was a lot of ugly in a small space. The highlight of the kitchen was the shutter doors you could swing open into the den.
We have been gradually chipping away at all the ugly, but I think the pictures speak for themselves...
Charles on our first day of home ownership. Right after signing all the closing papers we drove to True Value and bought a mallet to smash through the shutter doors.
Lexie was helped us paint cabinets and rooms day after day.
"Thrifty" stamped on the inside of our cabinets.
We had planned on atleast trying to save the upper cabinets as we took them down. As you can see that did not happen.
Charles in as much clothing as possible before crawling under the house with the cave cricket colony to rerun the waterline for the fridge.
