My thoughts go out to people at home (and in Tanzania) today! I came home from South Korea to find a letter from Granny, my mom, and a GIGANTIC package filled with chocolate, dried fruit, and nuts from Nanna, Aunt Anne, and the Blums! Not to mention all the post cards I have gotten from Trish, and the package earlier from my mom. You all have been incredibley thoughtful! I know I can be really horrible about getting back to people, but I hope you know that it really means a lot to me to hear from you. And helps me feel more connected to a VERY spread out family!

Whenever I do a self introduction in class, (which is pretty much 3-4 times a day) I always talk about what everyone is doing. They think you all are "sugoi"-- Great! I tell them I have family in NC, NY, Massachusetts, and Tanzania.. which seems totally unbelievable to them. Most if not all of them have never been abroad, and have not even really had all that much contact with foreigners, so the idea of having family members living all over the place is hard for them to comprehend.
